Carolyn Sue Lantz, 79, of Alto, Texas, passed away on February 10, 2024 after a long and full life.
A memorial service will be held 10:30 AM February 25, 2024 at Redeemer Lutheran Church and Student Center, 2306 Appleby Sand Road, Nacogdoches, Texas with the Reverend John Cain officiating.
Sue was born in Kansas City, Missouri to Francis Blanford “Jack” and Mable Theresa Floyd on November 15, 1944. She attended both University of Kansas and the University of Missouri before beginning an over thirty-year career as a teacher which filled her with joy. She credits her cousin Shirley for introducing her to future husband, Bernard Jack Lantz, one fateful night, March 15, 1974, and Sue married him on June 29, 1974 in Kansas City, Kansas. They celebrated not only their wedding anniversary but also the anniversary of the day they met every year since. They moved to Humble, Texas in 1977 where they lived before retiring to Alto, Texas. She could always be counted on to serve at church in any way needed. She loved entertaining and baking. She was an avid genealogist and enjoyed solving the mysteries it presented along with preserving family stories.
Sue is preceded in death by her parents as well as her brother, Gary Spencer Floyd.
She is survived by her husband, daughter, Amy Jenkins and her husband Cody Jenkins of Nacogdoches, her son, Bernard Lantz and fiancé Mai Sorima of Houston, and granddaughter, Anne Lantz along with nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and several cousins.
Her family rests assured that she is with her savior and rejoices that her suffering and challenges are now over.
Her family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to Dorothy Talbot for the many ways she has shown such great care to them.
