Funeral services for Charles Hulen Strickland, 85, of Alto will be Thursday October 12th, at 2pm at the O.T. Allen & Son funeral home chapel. Visitation will be Wednesday night from 6-8pm at the funeral home. Rev. Charlie Robinson will be officiating.
Charles was born February 1st, 1932 in Alto, Texas to Judge and Minnie Perkins Strickland. Charles moved to his mansion on October 9th, 2017 at 8:20am that Jesus had prepared for him. His heart was made of part medical metal but the rest of it was pure gold. He loved his children and his family. He also loved hunting and fishing all his life but he never killed a deer he could brag about in public. He was a member of New Energy Church in Belott. He worked at Allee Sewing Factory, and did some seismography. He is preceded in death by his parents, and son Mike Strickland.
He is survived by Daughter Cheryl Pierce of Grapeland, Texas; Sister Omie Cooper of Alto, Texas; Grandchildren Camille and Charlie Robinson of Midland, Texas; and Mollie and Michael Darby of Como, Texas; Great Grandchildren Kate, Kyler, Kynlee, and Kaisley; and “the girls” Trubie Moake and Ethel Tims. Pallbearers will be Roy Strickland, Earl Strickland, Roy Perkins, Dean Perkins, Danny Landrum, and Paul Dean. The family would like to give a special thank you to the Baker family and staff at Houston Co. Nursing Home in Crockett.
