Rita (Crosby) McLain of Alto/Texarkana, TX, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, August 11, 2016, surrounded by love and family. She was 86.

Born February 24, 1930, to James and Mallie Crosby, Rita grew up in Alto with her younger brother, Jimmy Caroll Crosby. In 1949, she married Dewey McLain Sr., also of Alto. The couple moved to Deer Park, where she worked and retired at Independence Bank. Rita was also a member of Hilltop Baptist Church in Alto and Heritage of Texarkana

She taught her family to love God, games, and "crunchy deer steak". She liked to paint, hunt, crochet, and play golf.

Rita is preceded in death by husband Dewey McLain Sr., grandson Bucky Ball, and great-grandson Ty Ball. She is survived by her children, Denise Miot and husband Chris of Texarkana; Dewey Jr. of Pearland; and Don McLain and wife Cheri of Owasso, OK; as well as 39 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Sunday, August 14, from 6 to 8 p.m. at O.T. Allen & Son Funeral Home in Alto. The celebration of her life, performed by Brother Josh Lindsey, will be 10 a.m. on Monday, August 15, 2016, at Hilltop Baptist Church in Alto. She will be laid to rest at Old Palestine Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to the American Lung Association.
