Kenneth Brethouwer

Graveside services for Kenneth Wayne Brethouwer, 86, of Tyler will be Sunday December 30th, 2018 at 3pm at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Joinerville, Texas. No visitation is scheduled. Mr. Brethouwer died Thursday December 27th in Tyler, Texas. He was born March 6th, 1932 in Tablerock, Nebraska to Lorn and Bersadus Leach Brethouwer. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Bobbye Brethouwer, and siblings Don Brethouwer, Lorn Brethouwer, Harold Brethouwer, and Dorothy Brethouwer. He was a teacher for 25 years and was a lifetime member of the Texas State Teachers Association. He was also a member of Texas Classroom Teachers, served with Meals on Wheels and was a city councilman in Alto. He is survived by Step Sons James Rix, Andy Rix; Step Daughter Suzanne Andrews; step grandchildren Bill Rix, John (Van) Sheridan, and Stephen (Yette) Sheridan; and 3 great grandchildren. Donations to the AHA  and A. Frank Smith UMC can be made in life of flowers.
