Roman Tijerina

Ray Tijerina, age 80, of Cushing, Texas, passed away on October 3, 2018 at his home in Cushing. He was born July 3, 1938 in Edna, Texas. He served in the United States Air Force.

He had a lifelong interest in creating artwork of various media from coastal scenes to modern art.  He is recognized for his work.  Several of his paintings are displayed in local businesses.

He attended various universities to perfect his fine art, including SFA in Nacogdoches, TX. He is survived by his wife, Linda (Furra) Tijerina. He is preceded in death by his parents, Juan and Rosario Tijerina. He is also survived by his siblings, John Tijerina and Lewis Tijerina, both from Aransas Pass, Pauline Martin and husband, Fred Ray Martin and Adela Espinosa, both from Nacogdoches, Ramona Ortiz from Houston, MaryLou and husband, Fred Hernandez, from Houston; children: daughters,  Amanda Tijerina of Austin,  Donna Tijerina of Cushing,  and son, Andrew Tijerina, wife Rachel, and their children, Rose Tijerina and Michael Tijerina, all of Hutto. and numerous nieces and nephews and their families.

A Celebration of Life Luncheon will be held October 20, 2018 at 12P at 922 5th Street, Cushing, Texas.
