Kathy Christian Parrish, 58, of Cushing, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at home peacefully in her sleep.
Visitation for Kathy will be held on Friday, February 10, 2023 from 6 – 8PM at Dickie Allen Funeral Home in Cushing, Texas.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00AM on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at Dickie Allen Funeral home. Burial will follow at Nat Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Dickie Allen Funeral Home.
Kathy Christian Parrish was born on January 25, 1965 to Stephen A Christian and Alice Ballard Christian at Memorial Hospital in Nacogdoches, Texas. Kathy attended schools in Nacogdoches and completed her senior year in 1984 from Central Heights. Kathy married Roy Parrish on July 27, 1985 in Nacogdoches. Kathy and Roy settled in Nat, Texas and had 3 wonderful sons: Michael, Ryan and Trent. Kathy was a dedicated stay at home mom for many years and you could always find her at her boys extracurricular activities either volunteering or cheering in the stands. Kathy then went on to work at Medical Center in the Loma L Laird Imaging Center. She then decided to continue her career in the medical field and attended nursing school at Panola School of Nursing where she graduated in 2007. Kathy worked many years as a pediatric and geriatric home health nurse and was loved by all of her patients. After her retirement from nursing, she got the best job ever – becoming a grandmother. Kathy and Roy have 5 beautiful granddaughters who are their whole world. You would often find Kathy and Roy sitting around a fire outside on the weekends with their granddaughters running around.
Kathy is preceded in death by her mother, Alice Ballard Christian, maternal grandparents, Vernon and Effie Ballard, and paternal grandparents, I.D. and Artie B. Lambert and mother-in-law Sue Parrish.
Left to cherish her memory is the love of her life, Roy Parrish, her husband of 37 years. Their three sons Michael Hannah and his wife, Allison, Ryan Parrish and his wife, Jessica, and Trent Parrish and his fiancée Kristie Barr. Father and stepmother, Steve and Linda Christian, and sister, Cindy McGinnis and her husband Christopher. Grandchildren: Adeline & Kate Hannah, Phoebe Parrish, Mallory and Lyla Parrish. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces/nephews.
Pallbearers will be Michael Hannah, Ryan Parrish, Trent Parrish, Jacob McGinnis, Collin McGinnis, Duncan Connell, Jeff Ratcliff and Billy Miller. The Services for Kathy will be officiated by Tyrone Spencer.
Honorary pallbearers will be: Robert Parrish, father-in-law, Bobby Parrish, brother-in-law, and Steve Christian, father.
The family asks in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Lilbert - Looneyville Volunteer Fire Department.
